They’re boasting that they have increased depth of top coat to 30 microns.

This is almost certainly an export model LML NV SPL.

NV stands for ‘new vespa’. SPL for ‘special’.

Its probably technically one of the best geared Vespas ever made.

A square engine (bore to stroke) with reed valve. Who needs a P200?

This is the area between the production line and the packaging hall. A kind of marshalling area

These are North American specification ‘Stellas’. Rebadged for the genuine Scooter company. Rebadging also takes places for the Australasian market known locally as the ‘Bella Donna RV150’.

The only thing that separates them is the badges and some minor electrical switch differences. Also the Stella has reflectors on the front mudguard (fender) to placate US regulations.

And finally here's Vikram. He is the LML chief engineer and largely responsible for the new generation of four stroke engines LML are putting into production. And will with good fortune eventually wash up on our shores when our EURO partners eventually ban anything with the word ‘fun’ in the title (not bitter)

The scoot behind him is a company ride by the way.





We hope you enjoyed this insight  in to the last of a breed. The only proper scooter factory left on earth.
