WHAT IS GOLDSTAR?
Goldstar  is a quick simple & easy mail order door to door engine renovation service. There are two levels of service:
1. Goldstar
2. Goldstar plus.

GOLDSTAR. This is the minimum we can do to an engine and offers an easy way to blue print or ‘zero’ your engine. All types of geared Vespa engines can receive this service and includes  a new complete suite of friction components (bearings & seals) new cruciform and new engine gasket set. All friction components are RMS, SKF, JAP or good quality alternatives from Italy, Germany or Japan.  All engines are rebuilt to original manufacturers specifications & torque settings.
COSTS?
Primavera, T5, Sprint & Rally engines are £200 inc VAT & Parts!
PX & LML variants are £180
Old school vespa engines pre 1977 average cost approx £190 depending on spares availability
Shipping extra @ £1 per kilo (mainland UK)
WHAT IF THERE ARE PROBLEMS?
Approx half of the engines we receive require extra work in some way. The advantage of Goldstar is that we have to split the engine to enable work which gives us an opportunity to inspect other important parts such as crank, clutch transmission etc.  If on the event we advise a problem we will talk to you first. We are happy to support advice with email jpegs etc & offer a selection of guaranteed fixed price quotations so that you do not get a nasty shock when you get your bill. For instance, new clutch plates are £8, new PX crank is £70 and so on. In other words the agreed scope of works determines your final cost. If you do not want to choose to have any remedial work carried out that is up to you, its your engine!

GOLDSTAR PLUS. This is the same as  standard Goldstar but with total emphasis on the aesthetics. We thoroughly strip down the engine to naked cases which are then blasted. The whole engine is then built up from scratch with all new components as to standard goldstar spec but with no expense spared externally. All components we can get at that are visible are either re manufactured or renewed outright. When you get your engine back it will look like its just left the factory! Typical cost for a PX engine is approx £350

PACKAGING.

Please understand we cannot take responsibility if you do not package your own engine thoroughly.  We have had instances where customers have just slung their engine in a box so it is up to you to protect your own engine in the inward bound journey.  Best method is to wrap up the engine with a soft material in to a giant snowball. Tape this up and then box it. Wad the box out thoroughly.
Once you have the engine in a taped up box you must now double box it. Put the first box in to a larger box and again wad with whatever material  between the two boxes. Now tape up the outer box. You should be in a situation where there is no way the engine can touch the side of the outer box & could it survive being dropped from say hip height?

ENGINE ARRIVES BACK AT NOMINATED ADDRESS: someone must be there to sign for the engine. If courier cannot acquire receipt a card will be left. You can then re arrange delivery yourself.

You will receive back a perfectly mechanically functioning engine that has been bench tested to 2000rpm for selection, clutch feed and  transmission functionality. Please follow running in instructions carefully.
